Terms of Service

Last updated: August 31, 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of Akcha (the “Service”), provided by Bilsis Information Systems and Technologies Inc. (“Bilsis,” “we,” “us”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What Akcha is

Akcha is a personal finance application. It connects to your financial accounts (through our provider Plaid) on a read-only basis to show you balances, transactions, budgets, goals, and insights. Akcha does not move, hold, or transfer your money.

2. Eligibility & your account

  • You must be at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction and able to form a binding contract.
  • You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account.
  • The information you provide must be accurate, and you must be authorized to connect any financial account you link.

3. Subscriptions & billing

  • Akcha is offered on a subscription basis (“Akcha Pro”) at US$6.99 per month, following any free trial. Prices are exclusive of tax: any applicable sales tax, GST or HST is calculated at checkout from your billing address and shown before you pay.
  • New accounts receive a 7-day free trial. If you do not subscribe, access ends when the trial expires.
  • During the trial you can connect 1 financial institution; an Akcha Pro subscription raises this to 10.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled.
  • You can cancel anytime from Settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep Pro until then, and we do not provide prorated refunds for partial periods except where required by law.
  • We may change pricing; we’ll give you advance notice, and changes apply to the following billing period.

4. Disconnecting your banks when access ends

Connected institutions are kept live for 7 days after a trial or a paid period ends. After that, if you have not subscribed or renewed, we disconnect them automatically — your data in Akcha is unaffected, but no new transactions arrive until you link the institution again.

5. Third-party services

Akcha relies on third parties including Plaid, your financial institutions, and Stripe. Your use of those services is also governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the acts, omissions, availability, or accuracy of third-party services, and connectivity to any particular bank is not guaranteed.

6. Not financial advice

Akcha is an informational tool. It does not provide financial, investment, tax, legal, or accounting advice, and nothing in the Service should be relied on as such. Account data may be delayed, incomplete, or contain errors originating from your bank or Plaid. You are responsible for verifying important information and for your own financial decisions.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including by: accessing it unlawfully; attempting to breach its security or access data that isn’t yours; interfering with its operation; reverse-engineering it except where permitted by law; or using it to violate anyone’s rights.

8. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding your own data), is owned by Bilsis and protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for your personal use, subject to these Terms.

9. Termination

You may stop using and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. On termination, your right to use the Service ends; sections that by their nature should survive (e.g. disclaimers and limitations of liability) will continue to apply.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data will always be accurate or available.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Bilsis will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months before the claim.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Bilsis harmless from claims and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or your breach of these Terms.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. The courts located in Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

14. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If changes are material, we’ll notify you before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
